Commentaires du Broker

This is a 1974 DeFever 60 Raised Pilot House Trawler. She was built in Kanagawa, Japan by Sasaki Shipbuilders. Her hull and interior is constructed of Nara Oak, Burmese Teak and Mahogany. Decks are a combination of teak and fiberglass.

She projects the rugged design features DeFevers are known for. The high bow, a raised pilothouse with the Portuguese bridge, and large upper deck with a davit crane and flybridge with views for miles and linked controls.

Unexpectedly, the current owner has passed and the family has no desire to continue the cruising lifestyle, let alone the restoration. This unfortunate event has clearly left the next phase of refit at pause. The vessel arrived in Port Townsend under her own power and is still lying there. Port Townsend is a maritime mecca for DIY refitting, local shipwrights, and the gateway to the San Juans, BC and beyond.

To date, this iconic DeFever 60 has completed the first phase of a complete restoration. With over $120,000 invested in her preservation over the last 6 months, clearly, completion to bristol condition will require additional investment in time and resources.

Currently, she has a new hull from the keel upwards, to the main deck, stem to stern has been completely restored. This is the lions share of her foundation.

The new owner(s) will see this as a rare opportunity to acquire an iconic vessel that will deliver satisfaction and pride of ownership for the next generation.

Upon completion of sale, 60% of the seller's proceeds will be donated to Seattle Children's Hospital and Northwest Harvest. For more information contact Waterline Boats, LLC.
